Local Public Transportation
The Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) operates two types of bus service: regularly scheduled routes and Demand Response. Please call FRTA at 773-8090 for more information or to schedule a ride.
Medical or "Med-Rides" are available to people who:
- Live in Franklin County
- Are 60 and over
- Are ambulatory (able to move without physical assistance)
- Have a medical appointment OUTSIDE of Franklin County
Requests for rides should be made at least 48 hours in advance. There is no charge for this service. However, after one has used the service a donation request letter is sent with a suggested donation amount. Donations are completely voluntary. The Med-Ride service is funded by Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) and also supported by Franklin County Home Care Corporation (FCHCC).
