Stickers are in the Stores!!!!!!!!!!!
Due to fiscal constraints, beginning July 5, 2010 the Town of Greenfield will be switching from PAYT bags to a sticker program.  Homeowners can purchase the stickers at the same stores where they previously purchased their green bags.  Prices are the same as for green bags.

  • The stickers will be in two colors to differentiate the cost:
  • $2.00 for 30-33 gallon “trash” bags – Bright Yellow
  • $1.25 for 13 gallon “tall kitchen” bags  – Bright Pink
  • Bags are to be drawn closed and the sticker is to be placed around the “neck” of the bag.
  • The stickers clearly state the size and weight limits.  If someone attempts to use a large bag (30-33 gallons) and only puts the $1.25 sticker on it, the collectors will not collect the bag.  In fairness to all, this policy will be strictly enforced.
  • No bag, regardless of size, will be collected if it weighs over 30 pounds.  The collectors make 450-550 stops per day and in order to prevent injury, the 30 lb weight limit must be adhered to.
  • Residents can use any color or brand of bag they wish – “cinch” bags, “ultra flex”, scented etc.  Bags larger than 33 gallons and “contractor” bags will not be collected.
  • There will be no expiration on the PAYT bags that we are currently using.  Residents will be able to use them until their supply is exhausted.
  • The Town will continue to sell the $0.50 “mini” bags which are popular with the elderly and our “super recyclers”.
