Mayor’s Task Force on Domestic Violence
Minutes of Task Force Meeting:
Wednesday, December 12th, 2018
Meeting called to order: 1:00pm
In attendance: Mary Kociela, Mark Williams, Scott Smith & Joanne Leonard

NELCWIT UPDATE: Joanne updated everyone on the status of NELCWIT after there had been concern last month that the agency would be closing. Joanne stated that staff had also been concerned about closure, but at this point changes have been made that have made it highly unlikely that there will be any closure or interruption of services.
• NELCWIT is hiring for: 1. Director of Counselor (LICSW)
2. Contracts & Grants Manager
3. Interim Executive Director
* Due to major changes in requirements and quantity of DPH grants for Sexual Assault Prevention Education, there is a chance that the Prevention Educator’s position (currently held by Joanne) at NELCWIT could be discontinued if they do not receive a grant. The grant application will be submitted on Tue Dec 18th 2018 and grants will be awarded 5-6 weeks later. If NELCWIT does not receive a grant, it will be the Board of Director’s decision to either fund the position themselves or let it go. NELCWIT & the CAC are partnering in application for the DPH SA Prevention grant.
POSTERS: We discussed the wording we wanted to print on the labels for the DV prevention posters. Joanne will follow-up with Karen next week. We voted on the following language:

• Mark Williams made a motion to accept wording as above. Seconded by Scott Smith. Passed unanimously.
SOCIAL NORMS SURVEY DISCUSSION: We reviewed the first draft of the questions, and the wording of same, on the survey for our Social Norms campaign. We discussed what our goals were for the answers, with our proposed working statement being, “----% of Greenfield residents would intervene if they saw a DV incident occurring.” We agreed that we could alter the statement if needed after receiving the survey results. Some edits were made to the questions – Mary will make changes to the draft and send them out to all members of the Task Force when done.
We began a discussion of how & where the surveys would be distributed, but tabled it until next month due to the time.
