Human Resources


In the Human Resources we work to ensure the City has a competent, diverse, high-quality, and well-supported workforce by:

  • Assisting with City compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ethical employment.
  • Recruiting and coordination of qualified candidates for open City positions.
  • On-boarding and orientation for new City employees.
  • Administrating benefits including health and dental insurance, vision care, flexible spending accounts, and life insurance for all City, Civil Service, Greenfield Public Schools, Franklin Hampshire Career Center, and GCET active and retired employees.
  • Managing the Family Medical Leave Act, Injured on Duty claims, and Worker's Compensation claims.
  • Administrating collective bargaining agreements and contracts.
  • Assisting City departments in development of accurate and efficient job descriptions.
  • Supporting the training initiatives of City departments.

We also strive to assist City departments in creating inclusive, safe, and productive workspaces that can succeed in meeting the City's vision, goals, and challenges while ensuring citywide compliance with employment laws and regulations in an environment that embraces diversity and quality customer service.
