Welcome to the Greenfield Retirement System portion of the Greenfield website. We are pleased to provide our active and retired members, their families, and the public information about the Greenfield Retirement System.

RETIREMENT BOARD GUIDELINES FOR REQUESTS FOR PUBLIC RECORDS

The Massachusetts Public Records Law, Massachusetts General Law c. 66 and c. 4 section 7(26), provides that every person has a right to access public information. In order to assist members of the public with accessing public records in our custody, the following guidelines are provided:

  • Although not required, requests for public records should be submitted in writing in order to ensure that our office accurately and completely responds to your request.
  • A request for public records should include a reasonable description of specific records being requested, including a time period, if applicable.
  • Under some circumstances, we may assess a reasonable fee for the production of public records, including $.05 per page for copying. We may charge up to $25 per hour for labor.
  • For general information about public records law, or if you wish to appeal our response to your public records request, please contact the Public Records Division of the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Office.
Public records maintained by the Board include, but are not limited to, records within the following categories:

  • Meeting agendas
  • Minutes of meetings
  • Forms and guides
  • Annual reports
  • Audit reports
  • Supplemental regulations
  • Budgets
