Greenfield Public Library Building Committee

The Greenfield Public Library Building Committee will assist in the design of a modern and progressive, or “next generation”, library.

Members of the Library Building Committee will be appointed by the Mayor of Greenfield to work directly with the Library’s project management and design firms.  The Committee will make recommendations regarding the design and function of the interior and exterior of Greenfield’s “next generation” library.  The Committee will solicit input from the library Board of Trustees, staff, Friends, and the community-at-large.

The Library Building Committee will meet at least monthly through the completion of the building’s design to accomplish tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
  1. Keep the Board of Trustees informed with a report at each monthly Board meeting
  2. Become familiar with design principals, both functional and aesthetic, of 21st century public libraries.
  3. Review the current Library Building Program.
  4. Assist in establishing design priorities.
  5. Participate in the schematic design process, attend public charrettes, and provide comments on the developing design to the Board of Trustees.
  6. Review final design documents.
  7. Make final design recommendations to the Board of Trustees for approval.
