Mayor, Greenfield Savings Bank, The Conway School to Participate in Park, Pride Crosswalk Ribbon Cuttings

On Friday, September 30 at 10 a.m., Mayor Roxann Wedegartner, officials from Greenfield Savings Bank and The Conway School and City department heads will participate in ribbon cuttings for the Fiske Avenue Pocket Park and the Pride crosswalk on Miles Street. The public is invited to attend.

The pocket park project, which created a public green space by shifting parking from a municipal lot to Miles Street, was the final phase of a design created in 2012 by The Conway School. It was funded by a $200,000 grant from the MassDOT’s Shared Streets and Spaces program. Previous phases included a pollinator garden and chess table, benches and bike repair station.

The Pride crosswalk was installed in July using paint supplied by Greenfield Savings Bank. It was the vision of GSB Officer and South Deerfield Branch Manager Kim Zabek.
