News and Event ScheduleProgramming information, calendar, and more. For accommodations, please contact a staff member before registration. |
Greenfield Senior Center is open to all seniors age 55+. A (free) membership is required to attend Council on Aging (COA) programs, classes, and use other COA services. We can register you in just a few minutes, and we are available to help you discover programs and services that fit your lifestyle and schedule. Some programs are drop-in, while others require pre-registration. Please read our Senior News (links above in grey box) for updated program and building information.
Senior Tax Work Off Program Description: Greenfield homeowners age 60+ may apply to "work off" a portion of your real estate taxes by working at a City Department (not at a non-profit or other agency). You may earn up to $1,500 off your real estate taxes (based upon hours worked at minimum wage). You must have lived in Greenfield for at least 5 years, and in Massachusetts for ten years or more. You must apply each year you wish to participate. Work hours must be for a City of Greenfield department and may be earned on or after July 1 depending on your placement and schedule.
Senior Tax Work Off is NOT an exemption. You may still apply for any exemption for which you are entitled. To read more about exemptions, click here.
The Senior Tax Work Off Progam application period for Fiscal Year 2023 is closed. Please check back in April 2023 for the FY24 applications.
If you have any questions about Greenfield Senior Tax Work Off, please contact Hope Macary, Greenfield Senior Center Director, at (413) 772-1517 ext. 2.
If you have questions about other City of Greenfield tax exemptions, and which one is right for you, please contact the Assessors Office at (413) 772-1506.
