Construction for Nash's Mill Road Water Main Installation Begins Monday, March 4

Construction work to install a 12-inch water main on Nash’s Mill Road is set to begin on Monday, March 4. The City of Greenfield DPW selected Haluch Water Contracting from an open bid process for the installation.

DPW Director Marlo Warner considers the Nash’s Mill water main an essential project to complete.

“This has been needed for many years due to the fact that the Meadows area is sourced by one water main,” said Warner. “If that were ever to break or be compromised, the city’s northwest section would have very little water and reduced fire protection.”

The installation is expected to cost $656,920. Funds are provided from some repurposed water appropriations from the past and water user fees.

The City of Greenfield DPW expects the project to take approximately seven weeks. To account for the construction work, Nash’s Mill Road will be closed Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM during those seven weeks.
