Greenfield Finance Director Diana Schindler receives MCPPO Certification

GREENFIELD – Following twenty years of municipal management experience, Greenfield Finance Director Diana Schindler recently earned her certification as a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO) from the Office of the Inspector General. Schindler is one of three Greenfield municipal employees to receive this distinction.

The MCCPO certification process encompasses a wide range of topics, including supply procurement and designing and constructing public facilities. Each lesson on these subjects provides resources and the most accurate representation of Massachusetts practices for participants. The insights Schindler gained will contribute to supporting the Finance Department’s proficiency, transparency and accountability in managing public funds.

Schindler considers receiving her MCPPO a “significant milestone” in her career.

“As a certified MCPPO, I am excited to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during this certification process to work alongside Laura Phelps, Greenfield’s Chief Procurement Officer, to improve our procurement practices, streamline operations and ultimately contribute to the financial well-being of the City of Greenfield,” said Schindler. “Together, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness in all procurement activities, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are utilized efficiently and effectively.”

“I would like to extend my appreciation to Mayor Roxann Wedegartner and my colleagues in the Finance Department, for their support and encouragement,” Schindler added. “Their commitment to providing exceptional services to our community has been instrumental in my pursuit of professional growth. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and remain committed to serving our community with unwavering professionalism and dedication.”
